Responsible Use Policy

Forlo deploys privacy-first analytics. The whole point is to help you track your visitors honestly, without surveillance, and without violating their privacy. That only works if you use it responsibly.
This policy is short. Read it before you buy.
What Forlo is built for
Intended uses
Tracking traffic and conversions on your own website or landing pages
Measuring marketing campaign performance via UTM parameters
Understanding visitor behavior to improve your site
Replacing cookie-based analytics to remove your consent banner legally
Agencies deploying analytics for client sites with client knowledge and consent
Any lawful business tracking visitor activity on sites you own or have permission to instrument
What Forlo is not built for
Prohibited uses
Tracking visitors on sites you do not own or have explicit permission to instrument
Deploying analytics on sites that engage in fraud, scams, or illegal activity
Using analytics data to build individual user profiles or cross-site tracking
Instrumenting sites that target or exploit minors
Tracking visitors in ways that violate applicable privacy law in your jurisdiction
Deploying analytics on sites that promote hate, harassment, or violence
Reselling Forlo's setup work as your own independent product without a separate agreement
Your obligations as a Forlo customer
You are responsible for ensuring your use of analytics on your site complies with the privacy laws that apply to you and your visitors. This includes but is not limited to:
- Disclosing your use of analytics in your own privacy policy
- Ensuring that cookie-free analytics is indeed compliant in your jurisdiction before removing a consent banner. Laws vary. We believe Forlo's approach is compliant in most jurisdictions, but you are responsible for confirming this with a legal professional if you have any doubt
- Responding to visitor data requests as required by applicable law
Privacy by design
Forlo's analytics collects no cookies, no IP addresses, and no personal identifiers. This is intentional. We designed it this way so you can run meaningful analytics without surveillance. Do not modify your instance to collect personal data without updating your own privacy policy and obtaining appropriate consent.
Enforcement
We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer or use case that violates this policy. If we become aware of prohibited use after setup is complete, we reserve the right to discontinue support and decline future purchases. We cannot remotely disable your instance since it runs on your server, but we will not assist you in using it irresponsibly.
